Urban Concept
The concept of the Music Campus creates calm and high quality indoor and outdoor spaces due to the treatment of the existing landscape with great consideration. The project is incorporated into the locality through the continuation of the boundaries, the buildings are embedded in the terrain. The idea is to terrace generously the open field in the north while establishing intimate intervals in the south. Thus permitting on the one hand an open view of the landscape of Köszegszerdahely and on the other hand conducted and directed views in the private area of the music campus.

Site Concept
Already at entering the premises from the parking site the building - distinctively folded out of the landscape - can be recognized. When continuing the path the front of the concert hall guides the way to its entrance. Before an outdoor tribune is passed, which offers the possibility to give open-air performances when the weather is fine. For this occasion the stage is turned, the front opens and the audience takes seat on the upward sloped hill.

In Tune
Walking towards the south the building slowly disappears again under the surface and the private area of the campus is entered. The apartments are situated in six flat hills that slowly rise out of the landscape and then disappear again in the ground. The flat sine wave of the front creates apartments that vary in height as well as in size. The row of the hills could be considered as overlapping waves.

Lodging
Every hill contains 8 apartments, 4 with each approx. 50 sq.m usable living area and 4 two-storey apartments with approx. 100 sq.m.

Floor Plans
The dividing walls of the apartments are not laid out parallel in order to open the living room to the south and to avoid the formation of flutter echo. That way the rooms of the apartments can also be used as practicing rooms for singing.
